The Three R's of Suspicious Transactions: Recognize, Review & Report

Seminar Agenda

This workshop has been designed to respond to the on-going challenges facing reporting entities, particularly the AML compliance officers tasked with managing the identification and reporting of transactions suspicious of money laundering and/or terrorist financing.  The content will examine both the legislative requirements and operational aspects that entail an effective Suspicious Activity Monitoring and Operational Response Program (SAMORP).

The faculty have structured the seminar to allow required responsibilities to be mixed with best practices and operational examples of effective monitoring and responding to suspicious activity. Group activities will take place at various points in the seminar to enable delegates to practice and work with case scenarios to sharpen their understanding and application of the content being discussed.

Delegates are encouraged to bring their own examples of suspicious activities to share with the group and, where appropriate, to have the group work to address questions the delegate has about their examples.  The seminar will also look at the use of monitoring software to identify possible suspicious activity and discuss how compliance officers can maximize the effectiveness of such rules-based technology to identify possible money laundering activities.

The seminar is designed to benefit both the newly appointed and experienced AML compliance official. Copies of training materials will be provided to all participants, along with case scenarios used during the various small group activity sessions.
